Recreation Amenities

North Oaks is an environmentally orientated community with a wealth of recreational resources. Hundreds of acres of land in North Oaks have been designated for active and passive recreational uses for Association Members. This property and associated facilities are owned and maintained by NOHOA. Explore over 40 miles of groomed hiking/cross country ski trails traversing wetlands, woods and prairie. Sail, canoe, or kayak on beautiful Pleasant Lake, ride your bike around it, or simply hang out at The Beach. Test out your green thumb with a community garden plot.
 
North Oaks has programs and recreational amenities for youths and adults.  For adults, you will find yoga, tai chi, and tennis in the summer. For children there is, tennis, soccer and sailing in the summer. Our fields and rinks can be rented for team practices like youth baseball, Tball, soccer, lacrosse, rugby, football, and hockey leagues. You'll be hard-pressed to find a sweeter setting for all the activities you love. Special annual events make it easy to get out and get to know your neighbors. Finally, you may have heard, we have some of the nicest ice around and a warming house to match, so sharpen up your skates! Please be aware that all NOHOA parking areas are patrolled. Please make sure to add NOHOA decals to your car to show that you are a NOHOA Member (contact nohoa@nohoa.org to recieve these decals). If you have guests using NOHOA amenities with you they will need a guest pass. Please contact nohoa@nohoa.org to request guest passes. If no guest pass is displayed the guest's car is subject to ticketing.

Community Garden
March-end of October
 
Community garden plots are offered to all NOHOA Members each summer. We have a total of 35 plots. Members will be required to renew their plots each summer. If Members no longer want to use their plots they will be released for other Members to reserve. If all plots are taken then a waitlist is created for those interested. NOHOA will assign plots when their are availabilities. Members may use a plot until they have requested it from NOHOA, been assigned a mooring and paid the fee.
 
Sailboat Moorings
May-end of September
 
Sailboat moorings are offered to all NOHOA Members each summer. Members will be required to renew their mooring from the previous year. If Members no longer want to use their mooring they will be released for other Members to reserve. If all moorings are full then a waitlist is created for those interested. NOHOA will assign racks when their are availabilities. Members may not place boats at moorings until they have requested it from NOHOA, been assigned a mooring and paid the fee. 
 
Watercraft Racks
March-March
 
Watercraft racks are offered to all NOHOA Members each summer. We have a total of 96 racks. These are a year long rental. Members will be required to renew their rack each summer. If Members no longer want to use their rack they will be released for other Members to reserve. If all racks are full then a waitlist is created for those interested.
 
You may use our website nohoa.org to either renew (if you would like to continue to use your rack) or "Request Canoe Rack" which is on a first come first serve basis. We will reach out to let you know if we have availability. NOHOA will assign watercraft racks when their are availabilities. Members may not place boats at racks until they have requested it from NOHOA, been assigned a rack and paid the fee.
